The BitFlare Certified Operator course provides a thorough understanding of the BitFlare tool and process. This six hour course provides a hands-on review of the product's features, while covering solutions to potential problems a user may encounter. Example problems students learn to overcome include:
- Examining a computer without a CD/DVD drive
- Examining a computer with limited memory
- Handling failing destination drives
- Locating data from overwritten filesystems
The material is intended for paralegals, IT staff, Private Investigators, and other consultants that may examine machines or create forensic images of computer hard drives on a regular basis.
The BitFlare Certified Operator's course costs $145. Certifications are valid for two years and renewal is available through demonstrated proficiency.
Individuals have the option of renewing their certification without retaking the course.
The BitFlare Certified Investigator course is designed for investigators with strong computer skills and experience using BitFlare. In-depth examination techniques reviewed include timestamp, registry, and file residue analysis. This certification builds on the BitFlare Certified Operator course, instructing on advanced interpretation of the BitFlare results.
The material is targeted for IT staff, Private Investigators, and other consultants that are BitFlare Certified Operators and wish to expand their forensic investigation capabilities.

The BitFlare Certified E-Discovery Expert course's material is designed to facilitate complete and cost-efficient collections procedures. In this hands-on course, students will learn how to manage custodians and perform triage collections. Focus will be given to early case assessment procedures including identifying, culling, and extracting data relevant to discovery requests. Students will learn to process extracted files for integration into a hosting and review solution that supports the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
